The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of a student who was caught with a loaded gun on campus at Armwood High School, located at 12000 U.S. Highway 92 in Seffner.
On Tuesday morning, a teacher at Armwood High detected the odor of marijuana coming from 17-year-old student. The teacher notified school administrators to conduct a search of the student’s backpack.
During the search, a loaded M&P firearm with one round in the chamber and a full magazine was located in the backpack. The student also had a scale in his possession, but no marijuana was found. The gun belonged to the student’s parent, who was unaware that he had taken it to school.
The was arrested and charged with Possession of a Firearm on School Property and Carrying a Concealed Weapon.
