CareerSource Tampa Bay will hold a business and education summit this Friday

Check-in for the sold-out event starts at 7:30 a.m. with business networking – continental breakfast at 8:00 a.m. followed by the event kickoff at 8:30 a.m.   The afternoon session starts at 11:45 a.m.  Nearly 300 people are expected to attend.  The event is expected to be completed by 2  p.m.

This year’s forum is expected to attract business, education and community leaders and will feature industry  recognized  speakers  sharing  their  insights  on  the  current  economic positions and vision for the future of work.

In  addition,  attendees  will  be  asked  to  participate  in  interactive  discussions  focused  on growing  the  most  skilled  talent  and  best  trained  workforce  in  our  area  and  engage  in feedback  regarding  industry  needs,  talent  challenges  and  skills  required  to  take  their businesses to the next level.

Speakers for the event include:

  •   Hillsborough County  Commissioner, Sandra Murman (welcome remarks)
  •   Mayor of Tampa, Jane Castor (morning keynote speaker)
  •   Chairman & CEO Sage Policy Group, Inc. Anirban Basu (lunch keynote speaker)
  •   Andrew Crapuchettes, CEO – EMSI (morning speaker)

The  event  will  also  feature  a  roundtable  discussion  with  Tampa  area  CEO’s.   The  CEO

Roundtable will be moderated by the National Association of Workforce Boards, President & CEO Ron Painter and will include the following:

  •   Marie  Chinnici  Everitt  –  CMO-Regional  Manager,  DTCC  (Depository  Trust  &  Clearing Corporation)
  •   Craig Richard – President & CEO, Tampa Bay Economic Development Council (EDC)

  •   Kevin Carr – CEO, FloridaMakes
  •   Mark Sharpe – Chief Potential Officer, Tampa Innovation Partnership

The Vision 2020 summit will feature a morning breakout session where business leaders can offer  valuable input into the business and education needs for the following industry sectors:

  •    Information Technology
  •    Life sciences/healthcare
  •    Entrepreneurs
  •    Military Affairs
