City of Tampa Solid Waste S.W.E.E.P Service Resumes

As the City of Tampa Department of Solid Waste and Environmental Program Management’s storm debris removal operations nears completion, the Department is able to resume the Solid Waste Enhanced Environment Program (S.W.E.E.P) for the remaining neighborhoods prior to the end of the year.

Beginning Monday, November 6, 2017, S.W.E.E.P. services will resume for City of Tampa neighborhoods that did not receive the annual amnesty bulky debris collection services due to the impact of Hurricane Irma.

Residents can visit the Solid Waste homepage at Tampagov.net/SolidWaste to view the updated schedule, map and additional program guidelines.  S.W.E.E.P service dates and information can also be obtained by calling the City of Tampa Utility Call Center at (813) 274-8811 or by contacting your neighborhood association leaders.

SWEEP Set Out Requirements

  • Items must be placed curbside, no later than 8 pm Sunday night and no earlier than (5) days prior to the first day of the week your scheduled collection.
  • Piles should not exceed 10 cubic yards to avoid additional disposal costs. 
  • Items placed in front of vacant homes or lots will be treated as illegal dumping and investigated by Code Enforcement.
  • For safety reasons, items blocked by vehicles or other objects will not be collected.
