The economy of New York State is in shambles with a record $15 billion state deficit. The state has been in one of the most draconian lockdowns in all the country–all thanks to Governor Andrew Cuomo.
Ah!, but has Cuomo had a change of heart about his beloved lockdowns?
In his State of the State address today, the Emmy-award winning Cuomo changed his tune saying–“We must plan our economic resurgence. We simply cannot stay closed until the vaccine hits critical mass. The cost is too high. We will have nothing left to open. We must reopen the economy, but we must do it smartly and safely. Also, we must energize our lagging private-sector and rebuild our economic platform, our transportation system, our infrastructure system for the next generation of growth.”
Well yea, Governor. That’s what most of us have known for months.
But just when you think Cuomo was a the right track with his state’s economy, he went back into classic Cuomo mode tweeting today–COVID is the existing threat — but climate change is the existential threat. New York will launch the most aggressive green economy program in the country.
