Last week it was reported that a Citrus County School District Middle School teacher was was running the white nationalist podcast “Unapologetic”. The podcast was run by Crystal River Middle School social studies teacher Dayanna Volitich, who ran the show under the pseudonym, “Tiana Dalichov”.

School district officials, upon learning of the report, removed Volitich from the classroom as part of a Citrus County School District investigation.
The Florida chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Florida) has chimed in on the situation welcoming Crystal River Middle School’s Superintendent Sandra Himmel’s decision to immediately remove Dayanna Volitich.
If the investigation confirms the allegations that Volitich was pushing her views in the classroom, CAIR-Florida requests that Superintendent Himmel demands Volitich’s permanent termination as such conduct would clearly violate Florida’s Principles of Professional Conduct for the Education Profession and federal laws.
Along with her termination, CAIR-Florida’s seeks that the School District issue a condemnation, an apology, and offer an Islam 101 educational workshop to its educators.
In addition, CAIR-Florida highly encourages Principal Inge Frederick to work with our organization to provide a series of Islam 101 trainings at Crystal River Middle School.
