Hoopfest will be the first event at AdventHealth Fieldhouse and Conference Center

After 14 months of hard work, the recently named AdventHealth Fieldhouse and Conference Center will host its first event.

Featuring more than 50 teams, the Polk County Hoopfest will bring boys and girls basketball teams from across the state to test their mettle on the court.

The grand opening of the facility, featuring tours and more, will be Saturday, Jan. 4 at 10:30 a.m.

Polk County Hoopfest is the first of more than 40 weekend-spanning events already scheduled for the facility. The first games will start at 4:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20.

Teams participating in the Hoopfest include boys teams from Winter Haven Christian, McKeel, Winter Haven and All Saints, as well as Hillsborough and Freedom from Hillsborough County and Orlando Christian Prep.

Girls teams participating include Tenoroc, All Saints and Victory Christian, as well as Carrollwood Day School, Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate and Chamberlain from Hillsborough County.
