Joe Scarborough’s total lack of self-awareness

What happened to Joe Scarborough over the years?

To demonstrate, in a recent interview with the horrible war-loving Tom Nichols from The Atlantic he said concerning Ron DeSantis’ thoughts about Russia–“they don’t really pose a risk to his neighbors” (you can watch here):

“It’s absolutely painful, especially a guy who wants to take control of a party that Ronald Reagan once led and went to the Brandenburg gate and said Mr Gorbechev, Tear down this wall.

‘What a way to devolve for a party…”

Nichols went on to critique the Republicans saying, “they abandoned the internationalists, the kind of muscular internationalism that Reagan brought to the end of the Cold War”.

First, Scarborough and Nichols seem to forget that up until Trump, Reagan was the most cautious President in decades as far as military foreign policy–bombing other countries, putting boots on the ground, etc. He was more cautious than GW Bush Sr., Bill Clinton, and of course Bush Jr. and Obama. Look at the history, Reagan had a much more restrained foreign policy than any of these men.

Second, Joe Scarborough talked of how the Republican Party had devolved. They clearly have their issues, but look a how Scarborough has devolve over that past number of years. Watch him each morning and see.

This guy appears to lack in self-awareness. This is evidenced by this speech he gave over a decade ago. Who’s devolved?:

“Samuel Johnson said patriotism is the last refuge of the scoundrel.  Today the epithet “isolationist” is the last refuge of the warmonger.”
