Philippines: Mask use mandatory in vehicle with passengers

In a joint statement on Friday, the Philippines Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Department of Health (DOH) announced the following guidelines on the wearing of face mask inside vehicles:

  1. When traveling alone, the driver may remove his/her face mask; and
  2. When the driver is with passenger/s, it is mandatory for all individuals inside the vehicle to properly wear a face mask, regardless if they are from the same household.

According to the statement,  government agencies would “observe and enforce” the wearing of face masks inside all vehicles except when the driver is traveling alone.
