Minnesota representative and member of the “squad”, Ilhan Omar, heaped praise upon President Joe Biden’s executive actions early in his presidency to include reentering the Paris Climate Agreement, revoking the Keystone XL pipeline permit and a mask mandate on all federal property, among many others.
“It is a new day for America. After months of engagement and conversations with the progressive movement, Joe Biden took bold action immediately on some of the greatest threats facing our country”, Omar said.
“This is just the beginning. There is still much work to do. As I have laid out, I am hopeful President Biden will fully cancel student debt, lower drug prices, raise the minimum wage for federal contractors, crack down on COVID-19 safety violations and prioritize strong anti-monopoly protections through executive action—and look forward to working with the Administration toward those goals.
“As the President said during his inauguration speech, ‘It’s time for boldness, for there is so much to do… we will be judged, you and I, by how we resolve these cascading crises of our era.’
“Together, we will meet this moment.”
