Seinfeld co-star Jerry Stiller passes away at age 92

Comedian Jerry Stiller has died at 92 from natural causes.

Son, actor and director Ben Stiller announced the passing this morning on Twitter.

“I’m sad to say that my father, Jerry Stiller, passed away from natural causes. He was a great dad and grandfather, and the most dedicated husband to Anne for about 62 years. He will be greatly missed. Love you Dad.”

Stiller began his career in the 1950s as the partner of his wife Anne Meara, but found incredible fame when he played George Costanza’s father Frank, on the NBC sitcom Seinfeld and Arthur Spooner on the CBS comedy series The King of Queens

Some of the biggest films Jerry Stiller appeared in were Airport 1975 as Sam, Tracy’s father (Wilbur) in Hairspray with Ricki Lake and, of course, alongside his son Ben, in Zoolander and Zoolander 2.

Celebrities and fans took to Twitter to pay tribute to Jerry Stiller and prompted “Serenity Now” to trend.

“Serenity now to Jerry Stiller, gone at 92,” tweeted Marshall Julius, in reference to the famous Seinfeld episode where Frank would yell “Serenity now!” as part of his anger management efforts.
