Today, the personal finance website, WalletHub, released their list of the Best & Worst Places for Veterans to Live in 2021 and topping the list was Tampa, FL.
In order to determine the best places for veterans to live, WalletHub compared the 100 most populated U.S. cities across four key dimensions: 1) Employment, 2) Economy, 3) Quality of Life and 4) Health.
Tampa ranked 6th, 21st, 3rd and 21st, respectively.
Three other Florida cities also made the top 20- Orlando (9), St. Petersburg (13) and Jacksonville (20).
According to David Edwards, Coordinator of Veterans Services/ Academic Advisor, Veterans and Military Student Services at Ohio University, veterans should consider the following when choosing a city to live in: A veteran should consider such things as job prospects (especially looking to work for companies who are military friendly), affordable housing, available veteran services (e.g., educational, job assistance, medical, etc.), and military friendly community.
