USF reports several vehicle burglaries

The University of South Florida Police Department (USFPD) received notification of several vehicle burglaries that occurred in USF parking lot 5A (near Student Health Services and the Marshall Student Center) between March 21st at 1:00 A.M. and March 22nd at 3 P.M.

The unknown suspect(s) gained entry into the vehicles by breaking a window or through an unlocked door. Once inside the suspect(s) removed personal items from within the vehicles. The suspect(s) fled the area apparently undetected in an unknown direction.

our part to keep the campus safer.

Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to remember the following safety tips:

  • Close all windows, lock all doors and activate anti-theft devices.
  • Do not leave items of value in plain sight.
  • Park in well-lit and heavily populated areas when possible.
  • If you see suspicious activity, call 9-1-1 or 813-974-2628 for non-emergencies.
