The Florida Department of Health (DOH) is reporting 943 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Hillsborough County through Friday evening, including 19 deaths. Of this total, more than 600 cases have been reported in Tampa residents.
Statewide, the DOH reports 25,269 total cases and 740 deaths.
On Thursday, members of the Emergency Policy Group (EPG) met and voted to cancel a curfew order which had gone into effect earlier this week. The Safer-at-Home order remains in effect.
Also, EPG members stepped up their appeal to residents to wear face coverings. The Centers for Disease Control advises the use of face coverings to slow the spread of the virus, and help people who may have the virus and do not know it from transmitting it to others.
