Florida COVID-19 cases top 20,000

The Florida Department of Health in an update this morning report that the number of COVID-19 cases in the state has topped the 20,000 mark after reporting an additional 706 cases, for a total of 20,601.

In addition, nine people have died who tested positive for COVID-19 in Brevard, Lee and Palm Beach counties. The state death total is now 470.

All 67 Florida counties have reported cases with Dade reporting the most with 7241, followed by Broward (3105), Palm Beach (1691), Orange (1017) and Hillsborough (790). Concerning cities, Miami, Hollywood, Hialeah, Orlando and Fort Lauderdale have seen the most.
