CareerSource Tampa Bay (CSTB) will be hosting a series of Summer Job Connection Employer Table Talks for Hillsborough County businesses. The table talks will give employers information on how to participate in the Summer Job Connection 2020 program which will begin accepting applications on January 6, 2020.

Employers are invited to learn about the success CSTB experienced during the 2019 Summer Job Connection Program. Understand the intricacies associated with administering a workforce development Summer Youth Employment Program and how employers play a vital role in building the future talent pipeline for youth ages 16 to 24.
“This program would not be able to succeed without our business engagement,” said Jennifer Wilson, Summer Job Connection Coordinator. “Our business community has been key to our success by meeting businesses’ short term workforce needs, improving our regional talent pipelines and expanding workplace learning opportunities through our paid work experience model.”
The focus of the Summer Job Connection will be on regionally targeted industries and in-demand jobs which includes:
• Manufacturing/Construction/ Building Trades
• Hospitality/Tourism
• Transportation
• Logistics
• Retail
• Financial Shared Services
• Healthcare
• Information Technology.
CSTB plans on serving up to 1,500 youth in 2020. During the summer of 2019, CSTB assisted with hiring 560 youth who participated in the program. There were 90 employers who took advantage of the program last summer.
