The investigation began earlier this week, after the Sheriff’s Office was contacted by the Satellite Beach Police Department who requested assistance with the investigation.   The complaint alleged that Liscum had been communicating through an electronic device with one of the students at the school.  The student became concerned about the content of the conversations and told another student, as well as a trusted teacher.  The teacher reported the information to school administrators, who contacted the minor student’s parent.

An Agent with the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Sexual Offender Registration and Tracking (SORT) Unit took over the online identity of the child and during subsequent conversations, Liscum solicited the student to meet this afternoon for the purpose of having sexual relations.  Liscum was arrested when he arrived at the pre-determined location.

He was charged with Use of a Computer to Solicit a Child and Travel to Meet after Use of a Computer to Lure a child.  He is currently being held at the Brevard County Jail on $70,000 Bond.

Liscum has been employed with the Brevard County School Board for the last 30 years. The investigation is continuing to determine if Liscum may have victimized any other children.
