Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton reveal new Russia conspiracy theory, ties to Capitol mob

Despite years wasted over the Russian collusion allegations, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi revealed to Hillary Clinton that the conspiracy theories are not dead, pushing the “strong support in the Congress” for establishing a “9/11-style commission” to investigate President Trump‘s ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russia’s involvement in the Capitol riot.

In an interview on Clinton’s podcast “You and Me Both” released Monday, Pelosi (D-Calif.) made the revelation after the 2016 Democratic presidential candidate discussed her concerns that the outgoing commander-in-chief was compromised by the Kremlin.

“We learned a lot about our system of government over the last four years with a president who disdains democracy and — as you have said numerous times — has other agendas,” Clinton began. “What they all are, I don’t think we yet know. I hope historically we will find out who he’s beholden to, who pulls his strings.”

The former secretary of state then got specific, questioning whether he spoke to Putin on the day of the riots.

“I would love to see his phone records to see whether he was talking to Putin the day that the insurgents invaded our Capitol,” she continued, adding, “We now know that — not just him, but his enablers, his accomplices, his cult members — have the same disregard for democracy.”

Clinton brought up the notion of a commission and Pelosi confirmed the thought.

“As I said to him in that picture with my blue suit as I was leaving, what I was saying to him as I was pointing, rudely, at him, ‘With you, Mr. President, all roads lead to Putin,’” Pelosi said, going on to say she does not know “what Putin has on him politically, financially or personally, but what happened last week was a gift to Putin, because Putin wants to undermine democracy in our country and throughout the world.”

There is no evidence of this relationship as the reference dates back to 2019 and talks about Syria.

“I also pointed out to the president I had concerns that all roads seemed to lead to Putin. The Russians have been trying to get a hold in the Middle East unsuccessfully and now the president has given them an opportunity with the Kurds reaching out to them for support in Syria,” she told reporters at a Capitol Hill press conference at the time.

“And these people, unbeknownst to them, they are Putin puppets. They were doing Putin’s business when they did that at the incitement of an insurrection by the president of the United States, so yes, we should have a 9/11 commission and there is strong support in the Congress for that,” the speaker told Clinton.

“So we are not waiting for the commission, but the commission will have a bigger agenda. And we will get to the bottom of what complicity members of Congress have in all of this. And, if they did, they should be prosecuted, as well as others.”

Back in 2018, it was confirmed that there was no evidence Syria had nerve gas, used chemical weapons on their citizens or posed a threat to the region as Pelosi is stating.
