Nikki Fried and Lauren Book arrested at pro-abortion protest

Yesterday evening, Florida Democratic Party Chair Nikki Fried and Senate Minority Leader Lauren Book and 11 others were arrested at a pro-abortion protest in Tallahassee. They were protesting SB 300.

The bill, S.B. 300, would ban most abortions after six weeks of pregnancy, with exceptions for women facing life-threatening harm during pregnancy, and exemptions of up to 15 weeks for victims of rape, incest and human trafficking.

Nikki Fried tweeted several times over the past day:

We protest to honor the sacrifice of all the women who came before us, and all the women who are coming after us. Women’s rights are human rights. And human rights must be inalienable.

Legalize women’s rights.

Apparently, Fried tweeted and pinned the following tweet, which has a classy picture:

I’m out. And not ever backing down. Just f**king vote

Of course, Nikki went right to the website to garner financial contributions:

Florida Democratic Party Chairwoman Nikki Fried was ARRESTED for peacefully protesting the FL GOP’s cancellation of the abortion rights of 11 million women.

Nikki won’t back down and neither will Florida Democrats. Help us fight back.

Today, Fried and other protesters who were arrested in Tallahassee last night held a press conference. Fried says last night’s protest showed that women in Florida are going to stand up and fight back against a 6-week abortion ban.
