Scott Perry: Biden using Ukraine to push Green New Deal

Rep. Scott Perry (R-PA) told the Todd Starnes Show President Biden is using Ukraine to push for the Left’s Green New Deal.

“The reason we got here is because we have a president that’s weak and signaled that he didn’t care if Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine and an energy policy that supports not only this excursion by Russia but has emboldened all our enemies around the globe,” Perry, the chairman of the House Freedom Caucus, told Starnes.

This week Biden announced the US will reject Russian oil and gas imports, pushing electric vehicles and promoting green energy without any increase, or plan for an increase, in the current oil production.

“It will mean that no one has to worry about price at the gas pump in the future,” said Biden. “It will mean tyrants like Putin won’t be able to use fossil fuels as weapons against other nations, and it will make America a world leader in manufacturing and exporting clean energy technology of the future to countries all around the world.”

Perry warned of the financial hardship which will comes from these moves.

“If you have a Democrat representative representing you in the House and Senate, you need to call them and tell them that you’ve had enough of this worshipping of the Green New Deal,” he said, “and you’d like to be able to turn the lights on and be able to afford your bill at the gas pump as well.”
