St. Petersburg: Free Christmas Tree collection set for Saturday

The City of St. Petersburg Sanitation Department will collect undecorated Christmas trees during the one-time citywide collection event on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020. Collected trees will be turned into mulch, which is free to residents at the City’s brush sites.

How to Participate:

  1. Remove all lights, ornaments, tree stands, plastic tree disposal bags and other decorations from the tree.
  2. Place the tree for collection in the same location where trash is usually collected – if trash is picked up at the curb, trees should be placed at the curb;  if trash is picked up in the alley, trees should be placed in the alley. Do not place the tree inside trash or recycling containers or lean the tree against electrical poles, trash containers, water meters, etc.
