St. Petersburg: Mainsail Art Festival Announces 2016 Performing Arts Schedule, April 16-17

The 41st Annual Mainsail Art Festival converges on St. Petersburg’s downtown waterfront Vinoy Park, 701 Bayshore Drive NE, on Saturday and Sunday, April 16-17. The two-day visual art show also presents the following entertainment lineup with sounds of Gospel, Hip-Hop, Reggae, Hot Sax, Swing, Classic Rock ‘n’ Roll, Rhythm and Blues:

Saturday, April 16

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

One of the 100 Best fine art shows in the nation, Mainsail attracts over 260 exhibiting artists from all over the nation, offering their art on sale or available for commission in categories including ceramics, fibers, glass, jewelry, metal, mixed media, oil/acrylic, photography, sculpture, watercolor and wood.

The two-day event combines visual and performing arts along with a Young at ARt student show and the Junior League’s Kids Create art activity tent. There will be an assortment of culinary arts as well as Mainsail souvenirs. Admission is free.

Now in its 41st year, the Mainsail Art Festival began in 1976 when the city’s Bicentennial Committee, the St. Petersburg Recreation Department and the new Saint Petersburg Arts Commission joined forces to sponsor the “First Annual Saint Petersburg Sidewalk Arts and Colonial Crafts Festival.”
