UACDC adds Basketball league, karate classes

The University Area Community Development Corporation (University Area CDC) invites children ages nine to 14 to participate in an eight-week basketball league, beginning Thursday, Oct. 17.

Registration will be held October 3-14 by calling 813.558.5212 or stopping by the University Area CDC Community Center, where practices and games will take place, at 14013 North 22nd Street in Tampa, 33613. The $45 fee can be paid all at once or over a payment plan. Also, some scholarships are available.

Practices will be held Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays between 6-9 p.m., depending on the age group. Games will be held on Saturdays, startingOctober 22, between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Additional exercise opportunities offered through the University Area CDC’s “Get Moving” program include free exercise and yoga classes, participation in the fitness center for just $5-$10 per month, karate classes and more.
