US ‘revolutionaries fighting for socialism’ join Hezbollah, Hamas terrorists, condemning Israel annexation

Lebanon’s militant Hezbollah group and the Palestinian terrorists, Hamas, on Monday condemned Israel’s plan to annex parts of the West Bank is an “aggression against the Palestinian people” and called for unity to confront it. Joining the outcry is the Freedom Road Socialist Organization (FRSO), “a national organization of revolutionaries fighting for socialism in the United States.”

“The Israeli apartheid regime is poised to commit a new crime against Palestine: the annexation of up to 30% of the West Bank,” FRSO wrote. “As things stand Israel effectively controls Palestine, with the heroic people of Gaza confined to an open prison and the hapless Palestinian Authority serving as accomplices to the occupation.”

The anti-Semitism was conjoined with anti-American sentiment.

“Israel was founded in the not-so-distant past on stolen land. It was a colonial project of British, and later U.S., imperialism, which came to fruition at a time when colonial empires were being swept away in a tide of struggle. At the time, American, British and Portuguese-backed white minority rulers dominated large swaths of Africa. Only the armed struggle involving millions of Africans brought that to an end. But in the Middle East, Western imperialism doubled down and used Israel as a weapon against the Arab peoples.”

The “annexation,” or “applying sovereignty,” is a declaration that territories defined as occupied under international law become an integral part of the territory of the state annexing it – especially in terms of the law, jurisdiction and administration will be by Israel.

President Trump supported Israel, unlike previous administrations, to recognize Israeli sovereignty in both the Golan Heights and Jerusalem.

Now, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netayahu aims to pronounce Israeli sovereignty over all of the Jewish settlements established in the West Bank since 1967, including the Jordan Valley. He has stated his intention to do this several times over the past three election campaigns.

The FRSO responded “we need to demand an end to all U.S. aid to Israel,” closing that “The state of Israel is an apartheid state with no right to exist. Organizations that fight for freedom, like the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, should be embraced by everyone who is serious about justice. Annexation will be another mile maker for a failed imperialist project.”

“The Palestinian people are capable of confronting this plan,” the Hezbollah statement said. It called on Arab and Muslim nations and “free people of the world to quickly move to stop the occupation’s continuous aggression against the Palestinian people.”

From the About US: FRSO

Freedom Road Socialist Organization (FRSO) is a national organization of revolutionaries fighting for socialism in the United States. Our home is in the working class.

FRSO members are rooted in the mass movements for justice, particularly in the labor movement and the movements of oppressed nations and nationalities– especially African-Americans and Chicanos. We are also active in the immigrant rights, anti-war, student and youth movements.

We are organizing the united front against monopoly capitalism — with the strategic alliance of the multinational working class and oppressed nationality movements at its core. This is our general strategy for revolution in the U.S.

FRSO is recruiting and building towards the creation of a new Communist Party based on Marxism-Leninism. This is necessary to lead the way to socialism and liberation. Our newspaper Fight Back! is popular at protests, read by union workers and community activists, and can also be found at www.FightBackNews.org
