India: Three dead in Tripura after accidentally drinking acid, Attributed to excessive drinking

Officials in Tripura state’s Dhalai region have reported the deaths of three men who inadvertently consumed acid while drunk, according to a report in The Sentinal.

“Under the influence of excessive drinking, all three consumed acid reserved for rubber sheets instead of alcohol,” Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Ratna Sadhan Jamatia said.

On Monday night, a celebration was held in Kanchancharra, with 10 people attending, including the deceased. The three of them ingested acid by accident after drinking too much booze at the party. They were intoxicated and couldn’t tell the difference, the cops claimed.

They were taken to the hospital; however, were declared dead when they arrived.
