The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man responsible for a Dover fatal hit-and-run accident as Joseph Cantrell.
Cantrell, 39, has been arrested and charged with striking a pedestrian on Gallagher Road and fled southbound towards Lewis Raulerson Road just after 8 a.m on Jan. 14.
The black Ford Mustang involved in the incident was locate by police and reported a couple of days later.
The victim who was struck has not been publicly identified by authorities. The individual was taken to a local hospital and later succumbed to their injuries.
Cantrell has been charged with leaving the scene of a crash with death.
